Salmon Pie Recipe from 1916
Take a tin of salmon, free the fish from skin and bone, and divide into small pieces. Season with salt, and pepper, and cayenne. Butter a pie – dish, and cover the bottom with a layer of potatoes that have been mashed with hot milk. Next put a good layer of salmon, and cover with a layer of potatoes. Moisten with a little hot milk, roughen the top of the pie with a fork, place in a brisk oven, and bake till hot through and the surface is slightly browned.

Pour half a pint of boiling milk over a dried haddock ; cover it over and let it remain for a few minutes.Skin and bone it, and put it into a saucepan with milk ; season with pepper, and let it get quite hot. Thicken the milk with flour and butter, then serve garnished with hard- boiled eggs cut into slices.
Edwardian Lobster pie recipe from 1909.
One tin of lobster. Break the fish apart, add the juice and grated rind of a lemon, season with pepper and salt. Make a sauce of one gill of milk and two ounces of butter; pour over, and put in the oven for a few minutes. serve with chopped egg and parsley.
