A Vegetarian Dinner Recipe.
Boil some Spanish onions, chop small. Cook some potatoes, mash with a small piece of butter, a little milk, season with pepper and salt, beat in the chopped onion. With a dish of boiled rice and a little melted butter this makes a capital dinner.
A Cheap Vegetarian Recipe.
Take one vegetable marrow, two large tomatoes one onion, one ounce of butter, pepper and salt. Slice the onion and tomatoes, and fry in butter. When done, put in the marrows, cut into dice, add a little water, pepper and salt, and stew till marrow is tender. Serve hot.
Madras Curry Recipe.
Fry a pound of onions in some fat until thoroughly brown, add a quarter of a pound of flour, then a pint of milk. Finely chop a pound of apples, and add these next. Hard-boil and chop four eggs, and add curry to taste. Then add one ounce of desiccated coconut. Cook all together for one hour. Serve with boiled rice.
